Who can attend BTEC?
Any Adams District Twelve high school student in 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Participating high schools include Horizon, Mountain Range, Legacy, Northglenn, Thornton and Vantage Point Campus, or any District #12 Charter School.
How do I know if BTEC is for me?
BTEC classes are ideal for the student who likes to learn by "doing." The job-simulation classroom experiences use up-to-date equipment to prepare students for either a career upon graduation OR to provide students a first time experience in a variety of career and technical classes.
What kind of teaching credentials do the BTEC teaching staff have?
BTEC faculty is comprised of certified teachers who are highly trained professionals in their specialized areas. Each teacher has at least five years of actual on-the-job related experience to complement their teaching skills.
How do students enroll for classes at BTEC?
Students sign up for BTEC classes in February and March during the registration process at their home high school. More information is available on our registration page.
How do students get transportation to BTEC?
FREE transportation is provided for students between their home high schools and BTEC. Transportation requirements for internships, volunteer work, or other out-of-school experiences is the responsibility of the student. Student parking is available on a limited basis.

What does it cost to attend BTEC?
Career and technical training classes and programs offered at BTEC are FREE to Adams Twelve Five Star Schools students. Some classes may require a small fee and/or specialized materials and supplies not provided by the school.

How is credit awarded?
Students attend BTEC as part of their high school day and receive high school credit for their career and technical classes. All BTEC credits meet District #12 graduation requirements.
How many classes can I enroll for at BTEC?
Students may enroll for one or all of their high school classes at BTEC. The Applied Academics program provides basic skills training in English, Math, Science and Social Studies that meet district graduation requirements.
How long are BTEC classes?
All Level I and Level II career and technical programs meet for two class periods every day, except for the following: Med Prep meets two class periods Semester 1 (fall) and three class periods during Semester 2 (spring). Academic classes, Applied Technology, Computer Technology A+, Network Technology Net+ all meet for 1 period daily. Any of these programs can be taken concurrently with other BTEC program.
